Prepare and review an AI image

Start with the image’s purpose on the page, not only an attractive style. An illustration should help the reader understand something and must not pretend to document a real person, product or event.

Method

1. Write a visual brief

Define subject, composition, intended crop, background and where the image will appear. Specify what must be absent, such as invented text, identifiable people or unofficial logos.

2. Inspect the output

Look at small and large sizes. Check anatomy, objects, lettering and misleading details. Reject an image that contradicts the message even if its overall appearance is appealing.

3. Prepare publication

Use appropriate dimensions and file format. Reserve its layout space. Write alternative text according to its function; decorative images may use an empty alternative. Keep origin and rights information.

Example to adapt

Create an illustrative still life of a notebook and geometric cards for a general article about planning. Leave space for a heading, avoid readable text and real brands, and make no documentary claim.

Checklist

Checks stay on this page; ticking a box does not automatically validate the result.

Deliverable

An image selected for a defined placement with a caption and accessible alternative where needed.

Limitations

Generated output does not automatically settle copyright or trademark questions. Use authentic, authorised material when representing real entities.

Sources for further reading and checking

These independent resources help you find a reference. Check the language and scope: a French resource may not describe rules in another country. These are not sources automatically consulted for generated answers.
