Choose a method for using AI
AI can help organise work, but the way to check it depends on the expected result. Choose your goal and the sensitivity of the situation to prepare a verifiable workflow.
The four methods
Write or learn
Start with an identified text and a specific audience. Separate supplied information from suggestions added by AI.
Prepare
A goal, a non-confidential excerpt, the reader’s level, length and an example of the expected format.
Check the result
Compare names, figures and commitments with the original. To learn, solve a new exercise without looking at the answer.
Verify a claim
Start with the original source. A confident answer, link or complete reference does not prove that a claim is correct.
Prepare
The exact claim, date, country, unit and the passage supposed to support it.
Check the result
Open the reference; check that it exists and supports the passage. Record exceptions and contradictions. Leave unconfirmed points unknown.
Compare options
Set criteria before reading proposals. Separate observations, preferences and assumptions; an overall score can hide an essential requirement.
Prepare
Options, mandatory constraints, criteria, units and sources for each value.
Check the result
Use the same scope. Do not replace missing data with zero. Test whether changing weights changes the ranking and explain the final choice.
Calculate or automate
Run a proposed formula or script on a checkable case before using it. Separate testing on a copy from actions that modify data or send messages.
Prepare
A copy of the data, units, rules, a small case with a known result and only the necessary permissions.
Check the result
Check the known case, empty values, boundaries and totals. Examine every external effect; plan recovery before irreversible changes.
Method and limitations
This tool applies fixed rules to your two choices. It does not call an AI model, receive documents or validate a decision. Choices are sent to the website in the URL; do not enter personal information. The form also works without JavaScript.
For a sensitive situation, first identify a qualified person and sources applicable to the country and date. Use an anonymised example to prepare questions. Do not send confidential documents to a service without permission and checking its terms. An AI answer alone is not enough to decide.
