Satirical fiction
The robot understood the joke. It wants the minutes.
A small play about explaining a joke versus sharing a moment.

“I identified the surprise,” announces the robot. It presents a table: column A, expectation; column B, the twist; column C, the budget for columns. Nobody laughs yet. The spreadsheet asks for another chance.
Surprise can contribute to comedy without being enough to make people laugh. In our scene, the robot names the device but misses the moment: the coffee is cold, the meeting is over and the audience wants its coat.
To play with AI and humour, change the viewpoint instead of collecting the words “funny” and “absurd”. Let a notification, a button or a forgotten file tell the story. Then read it aloud: rhythm and context belong to the text, even when no column requests them.
